This autumn winter season, Louisa Parris is supporting a cause that we feel very strongly about.

A percentage of each scarf sold from our online store will be donated to Dyslexia Action’s Learning Fund.

Dyslexia is a hidden disability that affects approximately 10% of the population to varying degrees. Over 6 million people in the United kingdom and one in five 11 year olds currently move from primary to secondary education with below expected levels of literacy. A staggering number of over 30,000 children are leaving school unable to read.

Dyslexia doesn’t affect intelligence but predominately causes difficulties with reading, writing and spelling. However, it is much more than just a difficulty with reading. The social impact of dyslexia is extensive.

The Dyslexia Action Learning Fund provides funds to pay for specialist tuition for children, young people and adults with dyslexia and literacy difficulties. In 25 centers across the United Kingdom, they help many of those who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

£362 will pay for a whole term of tuition for someone with literacy difficulties.
